Rebekah Davis' story is a great example of versatility. She and her husband Don (an Army and Navy veteran) are team truck drivers for US Xpress, and she is also currently a Soldier in the U.S. Army National Guard.
Rebekah joined the Army National Guard in 2013 to serve her country and carry on the traditions Veterans before her. In 2015, she completed CDL training using her GI Bill benefits and then hit the road with her husband. Rebekah says her military training, especially her Military Police specialty, prepared her for her civilian career by teaching her discipline, attention to detail, and the importance of following directions. On the road, just like in the military, noticing details and being observant helps ensure that you keep yourself and everyone else safe.
Along with her husband, Rebekah attends different schools, job fairs, and military-sponsored hiring events with their US Xpress truck, wrapped in military decals, to answer questions about their career path and help others find their path as well. She encourages veterans to use their GI Bill Benefits in order to enhance their careers. Her advice to those interested in a similar path? Pay attention to everything you are taught, and learn from others' experiences. There is always more to learn!
